Subject: Lotus Approach to Notes - 2 million records
Feedback Type: Suggestion
Product Area: Domino Designer on Eclipse (DDE)
Technical Area: Application Development
Platform: System i (iSeries/i5OS)
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Not applicable

We have a Lotus Approach application with 2 million records. These are our company order informations. There are different forms in approach which looks up data from these 2 million records. The look ups are faster and everything works real fast. Now we are converting to web based application. I tried these 2 method and the lookups are pretty slow.

1. Imported 100,000 records to notes and used regular dblookup to fetch data.
2. Used dbf files as backend and retrieved the records using lotusscript using odbc.

Both methods stuck in terms of the time it takes for the dblookups. How come the age old Lotus approach is faster in retrieving records and the 8.5.2 domino servers cant be faster ?

Is there any other efficient method to achieve this. Someone please advice. Thanks in advance.
